1

DITCH THE  THATCH

Thatch is made up of undecomposed stems, stolons, rhizomes, and roots.  If the thatch gets too thick on  top of your grass, it can be very  unhealthy for your lawn and  more difficult to remove.

Depending on how much water your region receives annually, you may need to install an irrigation system.  If your lawn is not getting enough water, it will leave the lawn looking dead and unhealthy.

GIVE IT  ENOUGH WATER

By fertilizing and promoting the growth of grass, you are leaving  no room for weeds to take over.  Weeds depend on open space to grow, but when healthy grass fills  the area there is not room for  those weeds.

FERTILIZE  ON TIME

For fertilization to work properly, you may need to do some research as to when you are supposed to  fertilize your yard. Fertilization  and winterization only works  when it is done during the right times of the year.

Mowing your lawn can actually promote healthy lawn growth.  By cutting your lawn when it is  dry at 3-3.5 inches you allowing  your clippings to settle and  promote growth. Too short or too long clippings will not have the same effect.
